ABOUT THE CLIENT
Finding Magic CIC creates joyful, inclusive arts experiences using theatre, storytelling, clowning and magic to bring people together. Their work is all about helping people reconnect with creativity, confidence and community, especially during difficult times.
I’ve worked with Finding Magic CIC for a number of years now, supporting the organisation across marketing, fundraising and strategy as they’ve grown and developed. What started as social media support quickly turned into a much bigger role, helping shape how the organisation communicates, grows and shares its work with the world.
THE CHALLENGE
Finding Magic CIC had a really clear vision from the start. The work was creative, thoughtful and genuinely impactful, but like a lot of new social enterprises, the challenge was turning all of that into a strong and sustainable brand.
After receiving Arts Council England funding for an initial tour, the focus became about building on that momentum and thinking longer-term. How could the organisation continue to grow? How could they reach more people? And how could they explain what they do in a way that felt clear, playful and accessible without losing the magic of it all?
Another big part of the work was untangling the founder’s personal brand from the organisation itself. When you run a community-led organisation, people often connect directly with the person behind it, which is lovely, but it can also make growth difficult. We worked together to create clearer branding, messaging and tone of voice for both Finding Magic CIC and the founder personally, so each could develop in their own way while still feeling connected.
At the same time, the organisation needed a stronger online presence to properly showcase workshops, performances and community projects, while still reflecting the warmth and personality that makes their work so special.
THE WORK
I initially came on board to manage social media, helping refresh Finding Magic CIC’s online presence and create content that better reflected the energy of the organisation.
The goal was never to make things feel overly polished or corporate. Instead, we focused on content that felt colourful, human and welcoming. I created branded graphics, social media templates and content plans that helped the organisation show up more consistently online while still feeling natural and authentic.
As the organisation grew, so did my role within the team.
Over the years, I’ve supported Finding Magic CIC through:
social media management
email marketing and newsletters
website updates and content
print materials and reports
fundraising support and bid writing
outreach and administrative support
strategic planning for future projects and growth
One of the highlights was supporting workshops and performances in person, including Peachy & Me in Stretford. Being there firsthand meant I could properly experience the atmosphere of the sessions, capture authentic content and better understand the impact the work was having on audiences and participants.
A lot of the work behind the scenes has also focused on sustainability and growth. Alongside marketing, we’ve worked on funding applications, future project ideas and ways to strengthen the organisation long-term. As new workshops, podcasts and creative projects developed, the marketing evolved with them.
Throughout everything, it’s been important that the organisation never loses what makes it special. The marketing needed to feel just as warm, playful and people-focused as the work itself.
THE IMPACT
Over time, Finding Magic CIC has built a much clearer and more recognisable online presence, helping more people discover their workshops, performances and creative projects.
Their social media and email marketing now do a much better job of telling the story behind the organisation, not just promoting events, but showing the real impact the work has on the people involved.
The organisation has also grown more confident in its branding and communications, with clearer messaging, stronger visuals and a more consistent voice across platforms. This has helped support funding applications, partnerships and audience development as the organisation continues to expand.
More than anything, the work has helped create a stronger foundation for the future. From new projects and collaborations to podcasts and touring work, Finding Magic CIC continues to grow in exciting directions, while still keeping community, creativity and joy at the centre of everything they do.
